Slept In

I had the joy today of sleeping in late. Let me tell you that I am not all use to this. 10:00am rolled around I turned over stretched with one of those sighs. I looked at the time on the box and shot straight up like something hit me. First thing that came to mind which is crazy thought, someone took the kids OMG. Rests assure they were all bundled and snuggled into their beds.

If you know my children that is not the norm at all around here. Although I feel as if the day was half way gone I will go on record and state ohhhhhhhhh felt ohhhhhhhhhhhhh so good.

Top Board Games

My family and I enjoy playing board games so the Princess and Prince requested some new games for Christmas.

If you enjoyed playing the old Bop It then you will definitely enjoy the new one. Age range states 8 and up but Prince who is 5 can play perfectly well. Bop it, pass it or hit with your hip this one is sure to be the family pleaser. New Connect that was also an oldie but will always be a goodie. It's new and way more improved with double the chances to play. Another plus if you have more than two in a family you can play along together.

Our top family board games or games are:
Sorry
Taboo Jr.
Uno
Scategories
Scrabble
Connect 4
New Connect
Bop It
Steal the Old Man Bundle

Tonight’s game will be Sorry and Bop It. Go out buy some games and have a fun night with the family. I am!!!!!

Wordless Wednesday

http://www.wordlesswednesday.com/

I really enjoyed looking at this picture. I had many pics to choose from but as you know if you have more then one child and more then one animal it's hard to get them all at once to face you and capture the one shot you want to send out as your Christmas card. Well I didn't use this one for my card but I still love it because it was the first take. Notice Princess was not even thinking of taking the pic and one of my dogs really was camera shy. Enjoy and happy Wed.

Get your blog......

Bloggers my friend Sandra over at http://busymommabee.blogspot.com// has launched her new business. What is it??? Well kick back and let me briefly explain. She's back and ready to go

My minivan is back in motion and I feel like doing the Locomotion. I felt trapped and that is not a feeling I am use to. My personality is get up and go and here I was with a ton of bricks. What seem to give me light was having my kids home and just spending time with them relaxing.
My new Crock pot also saved my soul :O) I love cooking & this newbie crock potter is going head on don't worry I won't get a ticket for speeding on this one. Stay tune for some pics with my new found friend.

Gottcha

To my dismay I found out the bad way how some cops can be such a doosh bag. Pardon my speech for a second and work with me people. It took place yesterday not far from home only eight lousy miles away. A police officer happily pulled me over and announced that my car would be held hostage due to the fact my plates were running up with no insurance. What the hell Oooooo was going on, I don't know but I plead my case and politely and most sophisticatedly handed over my insurance card and licensee. As he walked away I pulled my mirror down not to check him out as he walked away but to pucker up these lips and make the first application of lip gloss. Hate to say it ladies but it didn't work. Mr. Officer came back and assured me that I wouldn't be arrested but my car was going into the slammer. I do have insurance but just switched over to a different carrier. The paper work was nice and settled on my side door pocket but he didn't care. My children were left waiting for me out side in the cold but did he care ohhhh no he didn't. Thank goodness for kind neighbors is all I have to say.

Don't you think he could have been a bit more understanding and just give me a ticket. This mean soul took my plates and there I was with over 20 bags of Christmas shopping bags on a lonely street in the frigid cold. I really hope this man does not get much on Christmas. So to Mr. Scrooge here's a flip of the ol bird to you. Don't worry I'm not the least bitter.

I have friends who are officers and they say this man was a tad bit too much. I love men in a uniform but he’s scratched off that list for sure.  So what do you think?

Locked Out

This morning I locked myself out the house book bags in hand, my purse (cause I just need a bag), phone and hot chocolate toppling over me. Fume was coming out of my ears till I saw the snow and the faces on Princess and Prince. That made it all it all better what a better way to bring in December with some beautiful flakes.

Have a wonderful day all.

No More Kisses???

It struck me this afternoon that Prince is a bit uncomfortable with extending a kiss in front of an audience. I need a box of tissues please. Today was his Harvest Festival in school and he couldn't wait for me to get there. I only know this because it has been the top of discussion. I get to school and settle in then bend down and ask for a kiss and right then he floored me. No mommy later. I took a step back and wanted to find the nearest hole. I'm not sure what happened becacuse a few minutes later he calls me and I bend down and he planted a huge wet one and then said I love you mommy. Please someone tell me what happend???? This is the boy who is mommy crazy and the most affectionate boy I have ever met. Just last night he was cuddled into me asking if I can be his girlfriend.

Frustrated with html

Do you ever feel like you want to bang your head against the wall? As I grow increasingly  frustrated that is what I am perhaps to do. These four red walls are looking mighty tempting. I am working on tabs for my blog and the html is doing me a disservice at the moment. I must regain full control but I ask that you please bear with me as this transition takes place.

Have a wonderful weekend as I will try to bear in mind that this is a work in progress and there sure is a light at the end of my tunnel. Hugs and smooches :O)

Happy Birtday Princess

Princess is celebrating her 10th birtday today. It's amazing how fast the years go by. As I close my eyes it's a quick flashback of the doctor handing my sweet little pea over to me. She had the cutest little curled in fingers with a large amount of black hair.
Hunky and I have enjoyed watching our baby girl grow. From turning over, crawling, walking, first falls, dance recitals and soccer games. Now today she is not only celebrating her 10th birthday but running for school council Vice President. That's right my little Princess has transformed into such a beautiful butterfly that is always ready to fly into some new adventure.

What a journey it has been. So happy birthday Princess mommy loves you and you Rock!!!

Ruby Tuesday

My neighbor has a little girl and she really enjoys her playhouse. Prince often goes over to realax on those RED chairs.

My Button

Finally I have my own Button it's mine yippie di do da yippe di day. I thought this would never happen it took two long draining days for this to happen. My girlfriend over at http://www.busymama.blogspot.com/ and myself slaved over the html coding. I lost hope on Sunday and called it a rest since Hunky was commenting that he would love some side company :O). Monday came along Hunky spent the day home with me and I spent the day dating HTML. After battling hours it was up but not correctly it now time for dinner and a break. While soaking in the suds a text message came through, "The Button Is Up and Working". My buddy Sandra over at http://www.busymama.blogspot.com/ figured it out. So please share in my joy while I sip a bit of my tea and blog. Here's to blogging.

Something Smells Rather Lovely

I just recently became an independent consultant for Scentsy. After receiving my products and using them I was impressed at safe and beautiful they are. These wickless candles melt not with fire but with a light bulb. I don't have to worry about fires anymore or my children getting burn. There are plenty of scents to choose from that will make your home smell good. We are not only limited to wickless candles there's a line of sprays and car fresheners as well.

What's even more amazing is that my husband even likes them and wants one for his office. So that should tell you something, since you don't find many men who like this type of thing. If you would like to know more information please contact me :O)

Sunday Rewind

Yesterday morning I was conviced that I was not getting sick and it was only my allergies that were bothering. My girlfriend over at http://busymommabee.blogspot.com/ was having her first drop by and shop over at her home and I had to show my support for her and another friend over at  http://reesspace.blogspot.com/ by the end of the evening I became aware that this was no A L L E R GY it surely was me getting sick. Like I have no better things to do with my time other then lay around in bed and let this yucky thing run it's course. Well at least I was able to show sister support. We woman rock sick or not.

Nurture Shock

NURTURE SHOCK when this book touched my hands I was excited because it was my first book that I would be reviewing. I have four children and happen to think I have and am raising my children well. This book would have made it an easier job if I had known about it early on. It happens to be a book that every breathing parent should read. You may ask yourself why? It’s a very simple answer because it’s about how we conduct ourselves. I took away not only how I want my children to behave in society but also how I can do a little bit of changing myself.

In ten chapters the authors were able to extend to us the knowledge of child development. How science fits in. They mentioned the difference between a young childs brain and an adult brain of 25. Here’s a quote, “We need to question why this idea of picking the smart children early even appeals to us. We set this system up to make sure natural talent is discovered and nurtured. Instead the system is failing majority of the kids, and a lot of natural talent is being screened out. I love this quote because it’s so apparent in parents as well as school officials. With out meaning any harm it’s done and this is where this book fits in for adults and how we to need to behave. And change certain things about ourselves. Let’s put ourselves back to when we were 9 and let this book “Nurture Shock” help us.

One more little eye opener do you remember when your mom told you as the phone rang and she didn’t want to speak with someone at that moment, “oh just tell them I’m lying down or in the shower”? Then a few moments or days later they were telling you how bad it is to lie or even stated, “Don’t you ever let me find out you are lying”. Well all they were teaching us was that it was ok to lie. Yes, we are the ones teaching our children how to lie. We the parents are the ones doing this. It’s time for a quick wake up call.

This book is going to shock you and in turn you will love it by the end. You will find ways to engage with your child/children and change a few things about yourself. So what are you waiting for? Head over to your local book store and grab a copy of Nurture Shock.

When I first started the book I said I didn’t like it but I kept on and only ended up loving it. I would recommend to all those who have children and those who don’t. I am being honest in telling you that you will find this book very informative.

Must be my lucky day

Yesterday afternoon I received my first book to review. At first I was a little perplexed to see that it was a book and a book that I hadn't purchased. It suddenly hit me that it was the book that I requested through one of the book review sites that I had recently joined.
The book delivered is  "Nurture Shock" written by Daniel H. Pink. My girlfriend over from www.mariaspace.blogspot let me in on that the book has been out for a while now. That's ok it sits well with me I'm just ready to get started put up my review.
After receiving the package I was then notified that I won a giveaway. Isn't that great news????? I was floored by all the news and couldn't keep it together. It may sound a little ridiculous but hold tight I'm still a newbie. A few minutes had lingered on and I thought to myself why not eat those hot wings to keep my mouth zipped from saying a word. However that didn't do the job because no sooner Princess' God mother calls and then the cats out the bag blurt blurt blurt. I felt so much better that I was able to share my good news lol and not have to wait to blog it.

Ok here goes that's wella meeeee.

Lucky Day

http://mellowyellowmonday.blogspot.com/

Princess and Prince on 10/30/09
I love this picture because it just shows how frustrated my daughter was with me. I think this must have been picture 200 lol...Really I need to stop with all the snaps. Prince just loved having his pic taken.

What a Monday

I walked out this morning and wanted to just run right back in and head for my ohhhh sooo comfy bed. Some may think this weather is brisk for me in simply spells W I N T E R.
It's fastly approaching and although I love wearing the fashionable boots, mittens and the whole kitten kaboodle I could wait and put it on the backburner. I am in no way in a hurry for the red nose, chattering teeth, dripping noses and most of all I could hold off on hearing Hunky's voice sprint the words "Damn,I have to shovel again" lol. So truly and honestly Mother Nature if you can hear me please hold off a bit on winter.

Weekend In Review

Friday-
I enjoyed the entertaining children at Prince's class party. From there I hit the school parade and once again the children looked adorable as they walked in their costumes. Afterwards my friends and I took the kids for pizza before heading out for some early Trick or Treating. May I add just how much I love my town.

Saturday-
My girlfriend through a Halloween party for the wee little ones and that was a blast. The kids raced to make a Scare Crow the end result were amazing.
Rain didn't hold this family back no Sir. not one tid bit. We rocked the town with some umbrellas and cool friends to do all the tricking and treating. We followed all that fun with some great chinesse food at my mommy's house. Only drawback to this was that Spider Monkey and My Charm had their own fiesta and didn't trail the town with us. :O(
Awww oh well it is what is. I have to give the room and not complain right now because they truly are awesome well respected teens/young ladies.

Prince and his buddy at the party

This is the crafty genes of some 5 year olds. Oh by the way this was the best idea ever so I will be stealing for next year.

Sunday-
Had a great time at church stood up at the front of our congregation with my family and my good friend Sandra. Must add our pastor gives you the feeling that our church is home. Wait is homeeeeee :O)
Soccer was the ending to my weekend. My little Princes' team did not win the game but they busted their butts off.

I love this picture it was taken while apple picking with the family.
The boots looks warn, they also remind me of a pair I use to see sitting in my grandma's house out on the porch. I wonder roads they've traveled.

My Little Man

Prince has been sick for the last week fortunatley today he's feeling so much better. He spent this week with high fevers and tons of moaning from his pain.

With him being sick and me worrying about this whole Swine Flu epedemic excitement sure set in this morning when he woke up and asked, "Mommy can you bulid my Lego house with me". A smile came across his face as he snuggled up into me. Of course all I could think was YES YES YES my baby is feeling better and away I went to build that Lego house.

After having the flu with a topping of strep throat this little man deserves a Banna Boat so Friendly's here we come!!!!!

His fever is nearly gone and we have a happy little man.

Stay At Home Mommy vs Working Moms

I am watching yesterdays Dr. Phil and I cannot believe what a debate this topic is. How women go against each is appalling to me. I believe working moms and stay at home mommy's have a tough job all around no one is better than the other.

Right now I am a stay at home mommy and it works for me. I enjoy being home and being present when my children come home from school. I don't think I am wrong for wanting to stay at home. It's a choice my husband and I made together and for my family it fits us.

I have been on both sides of the spectrum and I have to say I feel fulfilled being home. My identity has not been lost. Yes, at times I would like to be with the other adults but that's where my friends come in.

Mother's who work deserve the same respect as us mommy's who are home with our children why should they be faulted for wanting to work. Or be looked down on because they are choosing a career which in turn let me remind you that monetary does help a family. What about those mothers who have to work because they are the only sole providers to their families. Don't you think they may want to stay home and join in on the day to day doings of their children?

Please let's just stop and join in as a team, acknowledge each other for the hard work we put in. For the time and effort we give our kid we should be patting each other on the back.

We are all mothers and all do an important job!!!

http://www.spunwithtears.com/thursday.html

This picture is beauty and peace. Very simple it also reminds me of an old friend that I have reconnected with once again. This friend meant a great deal to me when we were young and I will never let her go. She's angel and she's not even aware of it. I can't wait to see her and her little/big boy.

Girl Scouts

Big Bang that's what it was, we started our meeting for this year yesterday and it went off with a hitch. I love the Girl Scouting world and I am a devoted happy mommy Leader. We teamed our Junior girls up with a younger Brownie sister troop and it was great mix. The girls are going to work on their Bronze Award this year. Soooo huge shout out to my JUNIORS love you girls.

Ladies and gentlemen please please support our girls when you see them selling those peanuts and the ever so delicious cookies.

The Grand O'l Firehouse

There is Prince with food and a his little smile. Right next to him is Handsome and Godess.

October in my town is also known for Fire Prevention week. The local fire department visits our two schools plus two of our pre-schools they do a whole presentation/movie it's then finalized with a night visit over to our Fire Department. The kids love it, they get to go into the actual fire trucks, boats, have some good old fashion hotdogs. They top the night showing us families how they would break into a car to save you and last but not least show real life presentation on how quickly fire can ignite an article of fabric.

I must admit that every year we go and it's a fabulous night. My kids enjoy it as well as the other lovely families in my town. This year I was a little concerned. While trying to light the Curtain above the stove the curtain had fallen to the ground and one of the fire volunteer’s decided to pick up the curtain with his hands. Isn't this what we teach our wee ones not to do? Hellooooo someone throw a bone and get this man’s attention!!!!

Sorry that may have sounded rude but while this was taking place I had to make sure I was telling 5 year old Prince and 9 year old Princess the proper do's and don'ts. So needless to say I will be making a little visit to our department with some baked goods and a whole lot of words.

I truly do love my town and our Firehouse with its volunteers who put their lives in jeopardy for ours. I just want them know the mistake that was made and how kids can truly think for a quick moment it is ok for me to do the same thing.

Other than that we had an awesome time.

Here we have Spider Monkey and I this was taken on our college road trip to Buffalo. I was just so happy to hear that She was not going six hours away that I had to plant her one. My baby is not leving so far wooowhoo.

Silent Killer

Adults hurt just as children hurt. There's something I would like to mention and that would be Bulimia. Does this frighten you because it does to me? A friend of mine seems to be wondering if this is her situation or if she's just going through a yucky period.

People with bulimia are often ashamed of their eating problems and attempt to conceal their symptoms. Binge/purge behavior is often quite secretive and that's my friends problem. Until today she opened up and there is a feeling of relief. While she was thinking she was alone there were others like her. She is not yet prepared to allow her family to into her world. Into her secret for the feel of disappointment but we will work it through. We have found an outlet and soon life will be normal again.

She is the one who always has an answer and noticed by her family as the strong branch. We are going to nurture this limb and make it strong again. For she once stood tall and will once again. Remember this silent killer lurks on the older as well

This was taken at the  Childrens Museum.  I take my children here often and they appreciate  the art and sculptures as well as the toys.
